Project Description: 

The main objectives of this study are to:

  1. Map the total migration flows, stocks and remittances to, from and in each of the EAC countries;
  2. Examine the intra-regional cross-border regular labour migrant flows, trends and patterns in the EAC;
  3. Assess the characteristics of intra-regional cross-border irregular labour migrants in the EAC;
  4. Review the labour market responses in the EAC, in both the countries of origin and destination countries; and
  5. Draw on the findings to recommend priority evidence and data gaps to maximise the potential of labour migration to promote inclusive economic growth and poverty reduction in the EAC.
